GIS is committed to becoming the premier exhibition for the global launch of cutting-edge technologies in the high-tech field. By introducing a global ecosystem for the cooperation and exchange of intelligent innovation technologies, GIS aims to set a benchmark in the industry, much like CES, and create a global platform that is green, cross-disciplinary, and integrative. After its launch in Hong Kong, GIS will facilitate the linkage of four major cities—Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Macau—aggregating top-tier global innovation resources. This initiative will foster world-class scientific and technological innovation capabilities, setting a standard for the construction of international core innovative cities in the new era. It will also play a pivotal role in establishing a globally influential, world-class center for innovation, entrepreneurship, and venture capital, making it one of the first-tier global innovative cities and a hub with international core competitiveness. Moreover, GIS will leverage its leading role in scientific and technological innovation to significantly boost the regional economy of the Greater Bay Area. It will contribute to the area's development as the next world-class innovation center, thereby playing a crucial role in driving the economic and innovative growth of the region. The project is set to launch in 2025. The inaugural GIS is scheduled to grandly open at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong on December 2nd–3rd, 2025.
